Beistelltisch mit Drehmoment
Dieser Beistelltisch aus amerikanischer Schwarznuss passt sich flexibel dem Moment an – eine perfekte Balance aus Form, Funktion und Stabilität.
Gefertigt, um sich mit dem Moment zu bewegen. Der Tisch entstand auf Kundenwunsch und sollte sich nahtlos in das Wohnzimmer einfügen – speziell zu einer bereits bestehenden Sofalandschaft. Da viele Möbelstücke bereits aus Nussbaum gefertigt waren, wählten wir amerikanische Schwarznuss, die sowohl im Ton als auch in der Struktur perfekt mit dem vorhandenen Mobiliar harmoniert.
Gefragt war ein vielseitiges Möbelstück: ein Beistelltisch, der klassisch steht, sich aber auch um 90 Grad drehen und somit teilweise unter das Sofa schieben lässt – dadurch schwebt die obere Tischplatte praktisch über dem Sofa und ist von allen Positionen gut erreichbar. Dieses flexible Design führte zur charakteristischen C-Form – elegant im Erscheinungsbild, aber technisch anspruchsvoll in der Umsetzung.
Damit der Tisch in beiden Positionen stabil und belastbar bleibt, wurden zwei halbrunde Bögen unter der Tischplatte integriert. Sie sorgen für wichtige Stabilität, verteilen die Last gleichmäßig und verhindern ein Durchbiegen, wenn der Tisch in der C-Form steht.
So entstand ein Möbelstück, das sich spielerisch anpasst – nicht gemacht, um lediglich in einen Raum zu passen, sondern um sich mit dem Moment zu bewegen.
Made to move with the room. This piece was commissioned by a client looking for a side table that would fit seamlessly into their existing living room — especially around a specific sofa layout. Since much of their furniture was already crafted from walnut, we chose American Black Walnut to match both in tone and texture.
They wanted versatility: a table that could sit like a standard side table, but also rotate 90 degrees and tuck partway under the sofa, bringing the surface closer for everyday use. This dual-purpose design led to the defining c-shape — elegant in appearance, but structurally complex to execute.
To ensure the table remained stable and strong in both orientations, we introduced two half-arches beneath the tabletop. These provide critical structural reinforcement, distributing the load more evenly and preventing flex when the table is cantilevered in the c-shaped position.
What emerged is a table that adapts with ease — designed not just to fit a room, but to move with how it’s used.
